What music are you listening to right now?
I don’t listen to a lot of music, but I do listen to Casting Crowns, Mercy Me, and Third Day.

What has been the biggest “faith moment” in your life?
Seeing my son for the first time when we went to Guatemala. God showed me that He pursues me in the same way that I was pursuing this child. God has taught me a great deal about our adoption into His family as children through the adoption process.

What are you studying in your quiet time?
Proverbs and Fresh Encounter

What has God been teaching you lately?
To be still and know that He is God. He has a greater plan that I could ever fathom, and though I don’t understand it, my understanding of His ways does not (in any way) dictate what He will do. He will be glorified, and His plans will not be thrwarted!

Who has the most influence on your spiritual journey?
Wow, that’s a loaded question. I can think of many people who have poured into my life….as a teenager, so many adults in my church invested in me including Frank Myers, Cindy Stephens, Reba Clayton, and Vanita Cannon. As a young adult, my college professors, Dr. Steve Hooks and Dr. Barry Blackburn taught me great truths. Throughout my adulthood, I’ve looked to other women for wisdom including my friends Angelia, Mary C, Donna, and so many more. My husband JT and my brothers have always challenged and inspired me too. This summer, I learned a ton from our interns and they have challenged me greatly!

Where do you go to church and why?
We have attended The Church at Brook Hills for almost 9 years now. It is located almost 35 minutes away from where we live, but we know that God has called us there for a purpose. There are many people there who have blessed our lives and encouraged us over the years.

What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
2 Timothy 2:13 reminds us that God is ALWAYS faithful even when we are not! I rest in His faithfulness!

What are the last three books you have read?
The last three books I read were part of the Chronicles of Naria series….The Magician’s Nephew; The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe; The Horse and His Boy; Prince Caspian (I know that’s 4 but I couldn’t decide which one to leave out). We homeschool our three children, and we are working our way through the series now. We are studying the themes as they reflect Biblical truths.

If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Australia. Our precious Christy (once a semester intern from Samford and now an extended part of our family) is moving there this fall, and I would love to visit her!
