History
OWM has been working with First Papago Baptist Church since 2001. During that time a dormitory building has been built for mission groups and hundreds of people have come to a saving knowledge of Christ.
Climate
During the winter, the weather is typically in the 60’s to 70’s in the day and in the 30’s at night (snow can be seen in the higher elevations). Summer brings a dry heat that starts at 100 and goes upward. The reservation is located in the Senoran desert of southern Arizona.
Housing
A new community building, called the Mosaic Center, for housing groups was built in 2004. All groups are housed here and in the main church building. The Mosaic Center is equipped with 48 bunkbeds, bathrooms for males and females (with 5 showers each) and an industrial kitchen.
Transportation
Transportation on mission trips is the responsibility of the participating mission group. Driving is often required daily (and can be as extensive as 2-3 hours per day). Transportation considerations include rental vehicles, insurance and gas.
Cost
Each week-long trip is $300 which includes all housing, quiet time booklet, meals, and t-shirt.
